Tips, ideas and recipes

Tip 1 - The pantry should be a first in, first out zone. Shelve the new items at the back, so that you grab the older can of tomatoes before the new one while cooking dinner.

Tip 2 - A bay leaf taped to the inside of your pantry keeps away the nasties, like moths.

Tip 3 - Onions and potatoes should be sent to their separate corners as they emit gases that cause the other to spoil.

MasterChef Zingy Lemon Crunch and Vanilla Semifreddo – The Smart Shopper

To make slicing easier take your semifreddo out 5 minutes before serving and dip your knife in boiling hot water. The knife will melt through the frozen dessert and won’t stick, giving you perfectly smooth slices.
