It's All About Being Progressive
I was born in Scotland, and I've spent the last 35 years in the grocery sector. I am enormously proud to have been the Managing Director of Progressive Enterprises since 2006.
Progressive proudly owns and operates 149 Countdown, Woolworths and Foodtown supermarkets, employing over 18,000 kiwis right throughout New Zealand. We deliver a product range and prices that equate to exceptional value for over 2.5 million New Zealanders who visit our stores each week.
In February 2009 we announced plans to invest up to $1 billion over the next five years to better serve our customers - opening 3-5 stores and refurbishing 18-20 stores every year.
In addition to improving our stores, my team and I are committed to doing the very best we can for our communities and the environment.
Through our Fresh Future Appeal, we've raised over $2 million for children's hospitals in the last two years. We also support many charitable organisations including the Salvation Army, Variety Club, Alzheimers, The New Zealand Fire Service and many more.
We're working harder than ever to make our stores "greener". In fact, Progressive is committed to helping achieve a 40% reduction in our company's carbon footprint by 2015.
Our supermarkets have proudly been providing food to New Zealanders for nearly 80 years and it is our people that really make the difference. Through great team work this business goes from strength to strength.
Our people make us Progressive.
